Attracting Tourism Fund
The $48.6 million Attracting Tourism Fund (ATF) was established in 2018 to invest in catalytic tourism infrastructure projects in Queensland to grow demand and increase international visitation and overnight expenditure from priority source markets.
The Attracting Tourism Fund objectives include:
- growing aviation access from priority international markets
- supporting the development of infrastructure and experiences that attract, grow and sustain visitation
- supporting planning improvement opportunities to enable tourism growth in Queensland.
As part of the ATF, $10 million was extended to the Attracting Aviation Investment Fund (AAIF) to strengthen airline partnerships in lucrative international markets and identify projects with long-term potential.
$5.6 million from the ATF has also been extended to the Growing Indigenous Tourism in Queensland Fund to support the development of new and sustainable indigenous tourism products and experiences as part of Queensland’s Year of Indigenous Tourism.
The six projects funded under the ATF program provide economic benefits to the Queensland economy and enhance the State’s tourism offering.
