Youth Development Partnership Fund

The Queensland Government’s $4 million Youth Development Partnership Fund is a joint initiative between our department and the Queensland Police Service (QPS).

Supporting and uplifting 'at-risk' youth through the power of sport and adventure-based learning activities, the fund will support the expansion and creation of youth programs delivering an avenue for personal growth and development.

The initiative is a commitment to fostering positive change within Queensland's communities recognising that each region faces unique challenges related to youth crime. The investment in sport and active recreation programs that suit the specific needs of each area is focussed on delivering positive, and sustainable change through improving the physical and mental health among youth that are at risk.

We're investing in place based programs that resonate with the unique needs of each locality, linking to key local support services where possible. By building strong connections at the grassroots and community level, we ensure that funded initiatives are not just about sport or active recreation but serve as a broader catalyst for overall community support and well-being.

The fund focuses on the power of sport and recreation, and supports providing a sense of belonging and purpose, with the intent to equip young individuals with the skills and resilience needed for a brighter future.
