Minor Infrastructure and Inclusive Facilities Fund

The Minor Infrastructure and Inclusive Facilities Fund is an initiative under the Queensland Government’s Activate! Queensland 2019-2029 strategy.

The initiative provides targeted funding to eligible organisations to help the sport and active recreation industry deliver new, upgraded and end of life infrastructure projects and works.

These projects will enhance community sport and active recreation in one of two categories:

  • Inclusive and Accessible: projects to support new and upgraded changerooms and amenities that meet universal design principles.
  • Safe Quality and Efficient: projects to support new, upgraded and end-of-life field of play and ancillary facilities to meet activity requirements at a community level.

Additional funding: safe, quality and efficient projects

On 11 June 2024, additional funding of $9.5 million was announced to assist sporting clubs and active recreation organisations to deliver shovel-ready minor infrastructure projects across the state.

Under the Minor Infrastructure and Inclusive Facilities Fund there was a huge funding demand that exceeded the program budget in the Safe, Quality and Efficient category, hence these previously assessed Round 2 Minor Infrastructure Program applications were considered for this additional funding under the program guideline priorities.

The additional 50 approved projects in the safe, quality and efficient category are listed below.  Successful projects are to be completed by November 2025.

March 2024 funding recipients

In March 2024, a total of 171 projects have been approved for funding under Minor Infrastructure and Inclusive Facilities Fund.
