Queensland Pathways Blueprint Dynamic Implementation Plan

Delivery of the Queensland Pathways Blueprint is a shared endeavour between various Queensland Government agencies, the Australian Sports Commission, state sport organisations , peak industry bodies and other key partners.

Many organisations already deliver programs and services that support the Blueprint, and more will come online as implementation progresses.

The Queensland Government, in partnership with key Blueprint stakeholders, will deliver a range of programs and initiatives to support each of the core themes detailed below.

Key areas for cooperation will drive the development of initiatives and actions to deliver on the Blueprint.

Inclusion and lifelong participation

The FairPlay vouchers program provides targeted support to children aged 5 to 17 from low-income families to enable physical activity participation at the grassroots level.Sport and Recreation

The Deadly Active Sport and Recreation Program provides 17 discrete Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with support to deliver culturally appropriate physical activities to increase physical activity participation.Sport and Recreation
The First Nations Sport and Recreation Program provides funding to organisations to increase the physical activity levels of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in non-discrete communities.Sport and Recreation

System alignment, collaboration and knowledge sharing

The Active Industry Base fund provides funding to state level organisations to strengthen the capability of their sport/activity across the following areas:  robust governance, modern and reliable technology systems, ensuring the workforce has appropriate skills, knowledge and behaviours and development of modified and/ or improved participation offerings. Game Plan is a free online platform that provides sporting organisations with insights into their current capability in key areas of club administration and supports ongoing club development with a suite of tools and resources. Australian Sports Commission
The Women Leaders in Sport Program provides leadership development opportunities for women and girls on and off the field, while promoting gender equity in the Australian sport sector. Australian Sports Commission
The Australian Sport Learning Centre delivers sector-wide e-learning content designed to assist volunteers and paid staff across their diverse roles and responsibilities to deliver positive sport experiences. Australian Sports Commission
The Partnership to Empower Females in Elite Sport will provide female athletes with access to mentoring and networking opportunities, enabling them to achieve their full potential on and off the field. Queensland Academy of Sport & Minerva Network

Building quality talent pathways

  • Progression along and movement between talent pathways is supported
  • Rural and regional talent development and competitions are supported
  • Attract, develop, retain and support capable talent pathway leaders (coaches, referees, administrators and volunteers).
  • Develop and deliver participant-centred pathways
  • Positive role models (eg elite athletes and coaches) are developed, supported and retained within talent pathways
