Cutting-edge innovations to transform tourism

12 Apr 2024

Join us on a thrilling journey of innovation as we collaborate with Advance Queensland to revolutionise Queensland's tourism industry! We’re inviting small-to-medium enterprises to propose groundbreaking solutions to enhance travel experiences and unleash workforce capabilities, with the winning proposal receiving up to $100,000 in grant funding to bring their vision to life.

We have partnered with Advance Queensland to seek out innovative solutions for two challenges in the tourism industry:

  1. How can we enhance experiences at any stage/s of the travel consumer journey?
  2. How can we unlock workforce capabilities for Queensland’s tourism sector?

The first challenge statement explores the barriers travellers may encounter within any of the five stages of travel journey that may affect their travel experience. This may include an overabundance or lack of information, feelings of travel anxiety or unmet expectations. The goal is to align visitor expectations with their experiences through innovative strategies with a visitor-centric approach.

The second challenge statement seeks solutions to the tourism sector’s problems with retaining skilled staff and growing workforce capacity and capability.

Innovative small-to-medium enterprises based in Queensland have been invited to propose solutions for these two challenge statements.

Shortlisted applicants from each challenge statement will be invited to pitch their solutions to a panel of experts and industry attendees.

The winning proposal, selected based on its innovation, feasibility, impact, and alignment with challenge objectives, will receive grant funding of up to $100,000.

Delivered through Advance Queensland as part of their Private Sector Pathways Program, this funding will enable the winners to develop and pilot their proposed solution for 6 – 8 months.
