ActiveKIT is calling for ideas from innovative Queenslanders

01 May 2024

The Queensland Government’s ActiveKIT super round is now open for expressions of interest.

ActiveKIT is all about getting Queenslanders moving more often, in line with the 10-year Activate! Queensland strategy, by tapping into knowledge and embracing innovation while helping organisations offer products and services that inspire Queenslanders to get moving.

The super round will offer funding to support a variety of transformative ideas designed to meet the challenge of ‘Personalising the experience for all’; enable inclusive, social, flexible and/or commitment-free physical activity opportunities for all that helps to create a positive mindset and encourages physical activity involvement for life.

Previous rounds of ActiveKIT have supported such project as:

  • The development of the MoveIt NQ app which aims to overcome barriers for Northern Queenslanders participating in regular physical activity, such as limited access due to living in rural and remote locations.

  • Supporting Tai Chi for Health Queensland to implement technology to support a non-verbal person to become a class instructor.

  • Helping Arthritis Queensland partner with Queensland Ballet to deliver virtual dance classes across the state to get more women with arthritis moving regularly to support their health in a fun, social environment.

Expressions of Interest are open now and close on 22 May 2024 and successful ideas will be invited to complete a second stage application from 12 June 2024. Head to the website to find out more.
