Walk With Me 4 Autism All Abilities Rugby League Experience wins QRL Award
A huge moment for the Walk With Me 4 Autism All Abilities Rugby League Experience, taking out Community Program of the Year.
The recent Queensland Rugby League (QRL) Awards saw people honoured across all levels of the game including Walk With Me 4 Autism (WWM4A) All Abilities Rugby League Experience who were awarded the Auswide Bank Community Program of the Year.
The Norther Districts All Abilities Rugby League 4 week program was delivered between July and August 2022. The program commenced with 40 registrations and by the final week participation had more than doubled.
The program enabled kids with autism and other disabilities to tackle, run and score in a modified league format.
We provided $2500 in sponsorship funding to support WWM4A deliver their 2022 Northern Districts All Abilities Rugby League Experience in 2022.
WWM4A have leveraged our funding to deliver the program in 2022 and attract sponsorship from the NRL’s Canterbury Bulldogs for 2023.
Given the program’s huge success, there are plans to roll it out across Queensland and nationally in future years.
